Tips for Parents: Eating Well for Kids

Be healthy and have fun! Here are some tips for parents on how their children can learn about healthy living!

* It's important to teach children to eat when they are hungry, not when they are full.

* There are no "good" or "bad" foods. Teach your children to eat a lot of different foods

*  Children love snack time, but make sure it's a smart snack. Raisins, cheese, sometimes a cookie, celery and peanut butter, or fruit kabobs are all great snack choices that are kid friendly!

* If a child becomes upset, it is a good idea to relieve stress by participating in a sport or activity that they enjoy. This will prevent emotional eating.

* Try to incorporate exercise into your child's routine to help develop a healthier lifestyle for them.
