Tips and Tricks: Finding Motivation to Workout

It can be hard to dig deep and find the motivation to hit the gym or lace up the sneakers to take a walk. There are easy ways to find the motivation to workout!
  • Track your Progress: You can use anything from an online tracker to a hand written journal to track your progress. Going back and seeing the progress you have made, such as the extra mile you ran can boost motivation!
  • Perfection is not the Key: Go into your fitness journey with an open mind. There will sometimes be setbacks, such as missing a workout due to illness or injury. This is normal. Always remember to have a proper warm up and cool down during your workout.
  • Establish a Support System: Go to the gym with friends or family for support.
  • Make Fitness FUN: If you are not a person to go to the gym, take a walk outside on your lunch break or do Zumba aerobics in your living room. Find what appeals to you and that you find enjoyable!
  • Make your Workout Convenient: Do not let little things get in your way of your workout. Do an at-home workout video or set an alarm early in the morning to workout.
  • Reward Yourself: Always remember to reward yourself for all your hard work! Buy yourself a massage or go to a sporting event that you enjoy.
  • Start Small: Start your fitness journey with small realistic goals.
