Mindless Eating Habits that Cause Weight Gain

Eating While Distracted: Take time to sit down and enjoy your meals! People often tend to overeat while multi-tasking because it is more difficult to decide when you are full.

Dousing with Dressing: It's easy to go overboard with the salad dressing because it adds such great taste to our greens and vegetables! Just a small amount of dressing can add a high amount fat and calories. Go for "light" dressing options or oil and vinegar.

Not So Simple Sandwiches: Adding avocado, bacon, mayo, and other toppings add pep to your deli sandwich, but these items can also add extra fat and calories. When making a deluxe sandwich, pick only one of these toppings.

Coffee Confusion: A venti mocha made with whole milk and whip cream is not exactly fat and calorie friendly. Next time your at the coffee house, replace whole milk with skim and ditch the whip cream!!

Eating While Standing Up: Have you ever wandered around the kitchen with a box of crackers trying to figure out what to make for dinner? To avoid grazing and overeating,  have three regular meals and at least two planned snacks a day!!

Forgetting to Plan Ahead: Grocery shopping or making decisions about what to eat while you are hungry can sometimes lead to making choices that you wouldn't usually make. Plan your meals ahead and pack your lunch so you can control overeating.
