Does exercise make you hungry?... Tips and information on how to avoid overeating after a work out.

Many say that after a workout they cannot help but be hungry and want to indulge their bodies with high amounts of food and calories.  This is normal since the body has utilized its carbohydate stores during the workout, so it is simply wanting to be refueled.

To avoid overeating after a work out make sure to drink plenty of water.  The water will not only rehydrate your body from the lost fuels, but it will help you avoid the intake of too many calories after a work out.

In addition to drinking plenty of water, make sure to eat a small snack high in carbohydrates with a little bit of protein within a 30 - 60 minutes after working out.  Good snacks to consume post-workout include a banana, an apple with string cheese, low-fat yogart with fruit and/or granola, or even a glass of low-fat chocolate milk.

Drinking water and consuming a small snack will allow your body to refuel without consuming too many calories in the process.
