1. Be Realistic: Stay away from fad diets. Focus on a permanent lifestyle change for a healthier you.
2. Patience is a Virtue: Weight is suppose to come off at a steady pace. Don't try to lose too much too soon. With a little patience, you will be able to see the results you desire.
3. Support: Having a support system is imperative to maintain a healthy lifestyle and weight loss. Recruit a friend or family member to exercise with.
4. Hunger Eating vs. Emotional Eating: Keep track of your hunger and mood levels. This will help you separate hunger eating from emotional eating.
5. Weekly Weigh- In: Don't get into a routine of weighing yourself everyday. Weigh in weekly and have a strategy if you see yourself going up in weight.
6. Flexibility: Engaging in the same exercise routine everyday can get boring. Add variety in your diet and exercise plan.
7. Be Active: Along with following a healthy diet that is low in fat and calories, make sure you get at least 30 minutes of exercise a day!
8. Be Optimistic: Have a positive attitude throughout your lifestyle change! Make it FUN!!
